Who We Are...

Chartered in 1986, the Association for Adult Development and Aging, serves as a focal point for sharing, professional development, and advocacy related to adult development and aging issues and addresses counseling concerns across the lifespan.

​

AADA seeks to improve the standards of the professional service to adults of all ages by:

  • Improving the skills and competence of American Counseling Association members

  • Expanding professional work opportunities in adult development and aging

  • Promoting the lifelong development and well-being of adults

  • Addressing issues related to aging, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and disability.

  • Advocating for social justice so that all adults may achieve their highest potential.

  • Highlighting special issues and needs associated with aging in a multicultural society.

  • Promoting standards for professional preparation for counselors of adults across the lifespan

Who Joins AADA?

​

  • Counselors, service providers in the helping professions, family members, legislators, and other community service agencies and persons interested in matters related to the development and needs of adults across the life span are all encouraged to join AADA.
